A YEAR OR 2 AGO, I STARTED THE Y ADVENTURE.
I FOUND AND REBUILT A Y FOIL 77. MEAN WHILE I FOUND A Y 22 MTB, REBUILT THAT OVER A YEAR. TOOK A WHILE TO FIND THE ORIGINAL PARTS. I HAVE SINCE TURNED MY YOUNGEST SON ON TO THE Y'S. HE HAS RECENTLY STARTED AN ADVENTURE INTO THE REBUILDING OF HIS NEWLY AQUIRED Y 33 MTB. HE HAS DECIDED THAT INSTEAD OF PAINTING IT, HE WANTS TO APPLY HYDROGRAPHICS, AND SHOW OFF THE CARBON FIBER LOOK. THE BODY IS CARBON FIBER. HE IS SETTING IT OFF WITH LIME GREEN ACCENTS. THIS BIKE WILL ALSO BE A 3X9 DRIVE, WITH DEORE UPGRADED COMPONENTS.SURELY TO BE A BAD MAMA JAMA. SINCE HIS BEGINING HIS PROJECT, I HAVE COME ACROSS ANOTHER Y. A Y11 MTB. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO REBUILDING THIS ONE TOO. LOOKING FOR SOME HARD TO COME BY AMERICAN FLAG TIRES THAT IVE FOUND PICTURES OF. NO LUCK SO FAR. THE CYCLIING SEASON IS ALMOST HERE!
WE HAVE BEEN AQUIRING STOCK, SUCH AS BEARINGS, CABLES, HOUSINGS, TIRES, TUBES, CHAINS, BRAKE PADS, SPOKES, ETC. EVERYTHING TO GET YOUR BICYCLE BACK ON THE ROAD OR TRAIL! WE ARE CONTINUING TO OFFER BICYCLE SERVICE AND REPAIRS AT A MUCH LOWER COST THAN BIG BOX SHOPS. AGAIN, WE SELL OUR SERVICE. Last fall I acquired 2. One being the absolute most awesome road bike I have ever owned, they Y foil 77. I built it up completely with Dura Ace components. The other I got was Y 22 MTB. Full suspension, downhill forks....it just needed building back up from there.
I have spent the past 11 months almost, being patient, getting the parts I wanted for it, at great prices. I selected Shimano Deore mix, of deore, LX, & XT. I also spent time finding some of the original parts that came on the bike at its birth. Like the saddle & grips. I put some cool "bear trap" pedals on it, but got some clip in Shimano too. Flat bar handle bar. Up graded to 9 speed drive train. I will get to the point. I wanted the original Hydraulic disc brakes that came on the bike. Guess what? they're almost impossible to find, working, at a reasonable price. Just when I was about to give in and put cantilever rim brakes on it, I lucked up, I FOUND A SET!!! Hayes Generation 1, or purple. Nicknamed that for the purple logos. Well worth the money I paid. I got them. I put them on. I wanted more color on the bike, so I upgraded all the fittings and hoses with lime green. I enjoy the color. Now with newish brakes, hoses, and fluid its almost ready. Just waiting on the wheelset I ordered, and I can cut the chain to liking, dial it in and go!!! I am very excited to ride this bike. I have decided to go with a MAG wheelset, instead of the bontrager/deore hub wheels. I think this wheelset will definitely set it off. Im looking forward to riding & thrashing the hillside with this bike. Believe it or not.....I put this kind of passion into the service I provide my customers. I treat them all like my own. Look out NE Guilford Park......I'll be coming by soon. Just checking our stats on our web site, and we have just now at 4:50pm had a major milestone. We have had 93 visitors just today.. We haven't had that much traffic since building the site. WE ARE DEFINATELY EXCITED. We are growing in business, and we are growing in the communities knowledge of our business.

Our shops business is growing well, and more, and more people are inquiring on our shop, and seeing that our prices beat every other shop around. We are currently running a coupon on Yellowpages.com for $10.00 off advanced tune up service. Thank you again for all the support! Keep your eyes out for us......we're getting out!! For the past 5 days or so, I have had the pleasure to work on a pair of bikes
As some of you may know, The Trek Y's are my all time favorite. I was fortunate enough to aquire one, and I love it. And the boy loves them too. We are always looking for them. A new customer showed up with 2 Y 26's a week ago, disassembled, and ready for rebuild. During the week parts came in, and I finished them up today. I was really wanting to aquire one of those, but didn't have the gumption to request it. New crankset, new cables, and housings, new chains, new grips, new tubes, & suspension fork service on one. He had told me before that he and his girlfriend was wanting to start riding together.....I would not enjoy breaking that up. So any how, I rode them both, and I enjoyed the quick rides as I always do. Hate that I don't have one!!! But there's always tomorrows deal!!! Ladies & Gentleman,
We annouce that we are back from vacation, and although its sad to leave, and come home, we are back. We had a wonderful time, made some new friends, and hope to keep in contact with them regularly The Shops open for business. Looking forward to working on a few bikes, for customers that have called during our time away, and any new ones that need service. come on by!!! |
